Cineplex, a leading cinema chain, sought to modernize elements of their ticketing and financial systems to better align with evolving customer expectations and internal workflows. They needed improvements that could integrate with their existing infrastructure while supporting digital transformation goals.
We collaborated with Cineplex’s in-house team to design and implement a tailored solution, focusing on streamlining selected workflows and enhancing system interoperability. This included refining user-facing processes and optimizing certain backend functions to improve efficiency, scalability, and maintainability — all while ensuring strict compliance with Cineplex’s internal requirements and security standards.
API Integration Layer
Implemented and extended APIs to streamline system-to-system communication and reduce manual handoffs.
Data Pipelines
Built scheduled and on-demand pipelines for reliable movement and transformation of operational data into finance and reporting workflows.
Financial Export
Standardized financial export outputs for downstream accounting, with controls for completeness, reconciliation, and error handling.
Inventory: Concessions & Merchandise
Enabled inventory updates for concessions and merchandise, including transfers between inventory locations and support for cost-of-inventory calculations at a summarized level.
ERP Hand-off
Delivered export formats compatible with enterprise ERP systems (e.g., PeopleSoft) to streamline posting and period-end processes.
